From Telluride to Dolores, Colorado via C145

Our adventure begins south of Telluride on CR 145; there is a lot to do in this area
Simply beautiful vistas everywhere

Would like to go hiking here suppose to be a lot of trails
South 145 is a great road past Telluride

Matterhorn Mountain; my gosh what  a beautiful drive

what a great place for a campsite; at top of Lizard Head Pass; primitive sites, but we could easily do that for several days!  Lots of hiking in this area as well as back country roads. and 4 wheel drive excursions.

Lizard Head Pass...must be looking at this from the wrong angle because we cannot see a lizard head :)

amazing colors in the mountains out this way

Trout Lake...even with the monsoon clouds approaching...what a sight!

These kids are in a summer program out of telluride learning how to kayak...must be a nice lifestyle :)

a historic  railroad bridge by Trout Lake

Yep, it would be nice to have a cabin here, but due to the proximity of Telluride...$$$$$$

now, you may be able to find some property in the town of Rico, once a big silver mining town of 15,000 ; however you would have to be pretty sulf-sufficient; not much remains...

Yes, we are driving on the wrong side of the road.  From Lizard Head down to Rico, down to Dolores, there are several sections of construction where they are repaving the road.  Until our next big adventure!
