Fredericksburg, Texas at Lady Bird Municipal Park

Our favorite place to stay when visiting Fredericksburg area- Lady Bird Municipal Park

We got a shady spot and a huge yard to stretch out in along with cable tv and great wifi.

Pretty views surround us; the park is well maintained

this is the creek that runs through the park

We got up early on this hot summer day in July so we could take this walk

In the spring, the nature trail is filled with wildflowers; we were surprised to see a few flowers along our hike considering it is in the middle of summer

most of the hike is shady and winds down to the creek

a bird viewing station along the hike

the creek

crossing the creek

another wildflower still hanging around

these were impressive; they mainly grew along the banks of the creek

this butterfly posed perfectly--click to enlarge to see it better

the trail is to the right and those purple flowers are to the left

it is a very nice hike about a mile and a half.round trip.  Besides the nature trail, the park has a huge community pool  where for just 2 bucks you can go swimming.  There is also a beautiful golf course that is in the back of the park.  We like this place because it feels more like camping than staying in an rv park and just a few minutes to town.
