Earth Day in Alpine

Julio picking out my next birthday present

Learn how to do stucco house additions

They are having a huge rock/gem show inside and outside of the civic center. Lots of nice stuff. Would have put up more pictures but my camera battery died.

The annual plant sale at true value had tons of people buying. There is no Walmart, Lowe's , etc. here.

Big courtyard had many Earth day booths but not much of a farmer's market

There is more than one of these freecycles out here in the Trans-Pecos. Instead of donating items to a "charity" which sell the items, you drop off things you don't want and if you need something, you go down and pick it up for free. This system works well in an area where you don't have a lot of "takers".  Probably would not work in Houston.

The new public library in Alpine has a huge comfortable outdoor courtyard for reading. They also have a nice used bookstore.

Part of Sul Ross University. Its a nice college to honor the founder of Texas A&M
