Mackinac Island - The Boat Trip

You have to take a boat or a plane to Mackinac Island.  No motor vehicles are allowed, so you either rent a bike ( for 8 bucks an hour) , walk, take a carriage ride for a 50 buck tour , or if you are us, you take your own bike paying just 8 extra dollars for the ferry to carry your bike.  The cost of the ferry ride- 22 bucks a person. There are several ferry lines to choose from; and they all cost the same, so  we choose the hydro jet seeing "it high tails you to the island".  It was a swift ride.  Sadly, the day we went was quite overcast and very windy.

We took a "special" ferry ride that went out underneath the Mackinac Bridge before heading to the island.

Old Lighthouse coming into the island.

Approaching the island; you are going to have to click to enlarge all the shots we are going to share with you.

  1. Those are nothing compared to the fine fleet we have on the East end of Galveston.
