Glen Haven Coast Guard Station

Recreation of a Pilot House.

Glen Haven had an old Coast Guard Station
Sme detail of the inside which served as a station, home, and barracks.

This room slept eight men. Everyone had a closet.

Ships that ran into trouble and needed passengers rescued could be pulled into shore in this device called a lifecar.
The rescue boats were on trailers that could be rolled down these tracks and then launched. This station sits in dunes and you could not put the boathouse right on the water because of storm conditions.

Lifecar hanging in the boathouse.
