A beautiful spring day in Landa Park with the animals and Kannon

All the kids love this park in New Braunfels, Tx

Kannon liked the ducks (click on any picture to enlarge)

Ms. Blue Eyes

Kannon loved siting on the springs and watching the ducks

This guy has a classy look going

Tone it down some Beaudreaux, we can see you!

FLow coming out of Comal Springs

Climb tree like Monkey!

Someone else has blue eyes

St. Patricks Day with the Family

St Patrick's Day was celebrated by the Bynum family with a crawfish boil in Russell's backyard.   Everyone helped.

Choosing the right spices for the boil

Yum...a lot of garlic went into the preparation

Exactly how much red pepper was used?

While the crawfish cooked, there were plenty of good times. Colin always has a smile to share with the camera.

Katherine has quite a swing for a 5 year old.

Russell playing in the sand pile with Kannon wondering when he gets to drive the truck.

More spice????

Oops, did that get in your eye, Matt?

Catching Yellow Catfish in San Marcos

Taking a two and five year old fishing can be ....uh....challenging but I showed how it was done and then they were on their own. No animals were harmed during the filming of this blog.

Nothing to it!
I felt a bump!

You see pretty things on the river.

Kayakers choosing their path

Paw-Paw had to jump in at the last minute.

Katherine's big catch!

Landau Park

Took the grandkids to the park to ride a train, paddle some boats, play in the playground and have lunch. The hill country weather was perfect

You had to wave to everybody on the train and everybody waved back.

Trees were in spring bloom

Huge springs feed the river headwaters here
Swing me higher!

Spring break brought out lots of kids

Huge old live oak

We saw many varieties of fish and turtles in the clear water from the paddle boat

Pedernales River Hike

Everything is turning Green in Texas. Spring is here. As the Beatles said, "here comes the sun..."

Tried to make this one look like a 70's photo

Not as cold as you might think!

In the summer, these trees provide nice shade by the river bank
Cool, Clear water

Pedernales Falls.  Pure Texas spirit

This artesian spring coming out underneath the tree had a very strong flow

I've seen people build these spirit totems all over the country but never suspended on  branches.

San Gabriel Hike

Walking along a stream bed that had a lot of springs. This grotto had a small spring and was sheltered from the elements.

Trying to do an "arty" show on some animal bones in the stream.

Red flowers growing out of the cliff face.

One of my faves - The Monument Cafe..a veggie sandwich with eggplant, avocado, sprouts, cheese, yummy.

The monument cafe is a busy place on Sunday's. This shot shows about a third of the Kitchen. The girl in front of us was making fresh squeezed lime juice, lemon juice, orange juice....

The Monument Cafe has their own garden behind the restaurant.

The confluence of the North and South San Gabriels.

Waterfowl enjoying the clear water
Overspill by the blue hole
