Aufderheide Scenic Byway - June 24, 2011

About 50 miles east of Eugene, Oregon is a township called Westfir, which we are currently camped at.  This is the beginning of the Aufderheide Scenic Byway, named after a devoted forester.  At times, we heard ourselves saying "can't see the forest for the trees", but the drive was spectacular with hidden waterfalls and pristine lakes as well as a hot springs.

A quaint old fire ranger station along the route which can be rented out...

Just seeing this is relaxing, right?
The hot springs once owned by you, me, and we the now part of managed forest service where a private entity maintains the area and is allowed to collect fees.  Booo...five bucks, but the attendant said we could first check it we did.  The poster, if you click on it, warns ahead of time...if nudity offends you, then reconsider.  Oregon is very comfortable with nudity, We liked the VW bus though...
the trail leading to the springs
Beyond the bridge is the hot springs.  We could not take pics of it because there were quite a few nude sun bathers and photography is prohibited.  We were kinda surprised on how many populated the small springs.  Now all you have to ask yourself is did they stay or go?
