California Gold - Day Trippin - Placerville

A bit north of Amador City is Placerville, AKA Hangtown, a graphic allusion to the amount of hangings/lynchings they did in these here parts.  Over 4000 miners lived in this area during the peak of gold rush; it is still a pretty busy place.  Surprisngly, most of the stores were not meant for tourists; it is a working, siustainable downtown with a drug store, general store, etc... that locals use for everyday existence.  Much better way to shop than WalMart.

Great name for a bar!

Now this is shopping!
